Harvey Cameron and Nero Motion combine forces

Nero Motion and Harvey Cameron have teamed up to meet the surging market demand for complex digital development and branding solutions, combining Nero Motion’s expertise in custom software development with Harvey Cameron’s aptitude in strategy, creative, media, and web services.

NZ Marketing caught up with Harvey Cameron’s Managing Director Gareth O’Connor and General Manager Digital James Duggan, along with Nero Motion’s CEO and Creative Director Alessandro Benintende, to shed light on what this partnership means for their clients and the strategic timing behind the decision to unite these two businesses.

What is it about the current landscape that made it the right time for Harvey Cameron and Nero Motion to partner?

Alessandro: As software continues to transform the world, we are seeing more and more companies demand scalable software solutions customised to their customer needs, to their problems, and their internal workflows. Companies with outdated technology and antiquated systems are getting left behind (or at least significantly running that risk).

Whether it’s internal operations, customer service, marketing, branding or strategy, technology is an integral part of the conversation. Harvey Cameron brings the expertise in strategy, creative and media, and Nero Motion brings wide-ranging technical capabilities. By working together as one, we can build fully integrated, coherent end-to-end customer experiences for our clients, making sure that every workflow, every system, every experience, as well as every product, service, touch point, message, is as good as it can be, building better memories, better perceptions and better experiences for our clients’ customers.

What are some of the challenges businesses are facing that this partnership aims to solve?

Gareth: Every business is trying to attract, retain, and maximise the lifetime value of each customer. The roles of marketing, technology, systems, software, websites, apps, ecommerce, data, automation, CRM, and media are all intrinsically linked. Every business wants to be as effective and efficient as it can be in how it does all of these things. The challenge of managing all of this can be daunting, so daunting in fact that many New Zealand businesses aren’t embracing the opportunities in front of them, because they don’t know where to start. It usually requires working with multiple partners. We are trying to simplify that.

Bringing this together with how the business operates, how technology and software is embraced across the organisation, to better streamline and manage not just the running of the business, but every aspect of how it serves the customer, is a massive job. The capabilities of the partner will help make the easier.

How will this partnership better serve clients and what results can they expect to see?

Alessandro: At its simplest, we want our clients to see better results, faster. By combining forces, we can deliver on a much greater breadth of services than most agencies: it could be a brand identity, an ecommerce website, an app, a CRM platform, an ERP system, a brand creative platform, a marketing strategy – and each time executed by domain specialists with deep expertise. Put simply, we will be able to offer both depth and breadth, to world-class standards.

What are the benefits of having all these offerings under one roof?

Alessandro: It’s hard to do lots of things well. Instead of a full-service marketing and strategy agency with a technical arm, or a digital agency that’s built out a marketing team, both HC and NM remain true to their core offering and expertise, allowing deeper specialisation and ultimately better results. By joining forces, our clients get the best of both worlds with absolutely no compromise to capability, quality or outcomes. At the same time, it’s one less external partner that they need to find, vet and learn to work with.

What’s something you wish more of your potential customers understood about what you offer them?

James: Getting each part of your business as effective and efficient as possible often feels like a never-ending journey. Adopting the right technology, the right software and systems to best operate and serve your customers, then market your company in the best ways, then ensuring the systems you have in place are best to convert, retain, and maximise lifetime value, adds more complexity still.

The purpose of our partnership is to bring this all together to help more New Zealand businesses make the most of their efforts and the opportunities ahead of them.
